Tony Hou - President

I was devastated by the news of Dora’s tragic death, and upon hearing the news, it made sense for me to do something about the injustice. I also used to be an owner of a dog and several cats, so I understand the struggle one has to go through when losing a pet. The feeling of injustice and loss is something I don’t want anyone else to experience, which is why I am part of the Dora Animal Protection Foundation. I am proud to be part of this foundation and to advocate for animal rights.

(J’ai été dévasté d’apprendre la mort tragique de Dora. Quand j’ai entendu la nouvelle, il m’a semblé logique de faire quelque chose pour réparer cette injustice. J’ai également été propriétaire d’un chien et de plusieurs chats, je comprends donc le combat que l’on doit mener lorsqu'on perd un animal de compagnie. Le sentiment d'injustice et de perte est quelque chose que je ne souhaite à personne, c’est pourquoi je fais partie de la Dora Animal Protection Foundation. Je suis fière de faire partie de cette fondation et de défendre les droits des animaux.)

Jason Guo - Founder

I established the Dora Animal Protection Foundation because I believe that animals, like our humans, are living beings that should be treated fairly and are deserving of respect. My Dora died due to food and water deprivation when traveling in the cargo hold of the airplanes. Her terrible death is a typical example of how animals are treated inhumanely. Therefore, I named the foundation after her name. I hope that through the Dora Animal Protection Foundation we will be able to work together to spread our message and voice for the protection of vulnerable animals and make change for their well-being.

(J’ai établit la Fondation Dora de la Protection des Animaux parce que je crois que des animaux, comme des êtres humains, sont des êtres vivants qui devraient être respectés et traités équitablement. Dora est morte à cause de la privation de la nourriture et de l’eau en voyageant dans les frets des avions. Sa mort terrible est un exemple typique du traitement inhumain des animaux. En conséquence, j’ai nommé la fondation d’après son nom. J’espère qu’avec la Fondation Dora de la Protection des Animaux nous pouvons travailler ensemble pour répandre notre message de protéger des animaux vulnérables et créer des changements pour leur bien-être.)

Ian Dawe - Director

Ian Dawe is a lifelong pet companion and trained biologist who has in the past been housemates with five cats, two dogs, two birds and assorted fish (not all at the same time). He is and has been committed to animal protection and the care of animals since childhood and for the past ten years has been accompanied in life by his 13-year-old SPCA rescue cat William, pictured here. The Dora Animal Foundation receives his full support.

(Ian Dawe est un amoureux des animaux de longue date et un biologiste de formation qui a, par le passé, cohabité avec cinq chats, deux chiens, deux oiseaux et divers poissons (pas tous en même temps). Il est et a été engagé dans la protection et le soin des animaux depuis son enfance et depuis dix ans, il est accompagné dans la vie par son chat secouru par la SPCA, William, 13 ans, photographié ici. La Fondation Dora pour les animaux bénéficie de son soutien total. )

My dog Kodak brings an endless amount of love and joy into my life. Dora’s heart wrenching story inspires me to advocate for vulnerable animals that cannot speak for themselves. I am thankful to be a part of such a wonderful organization.

Fiona Pan - Vice President

As a dog owner myself, it breaks my heart to hear Dora’s story. Dogs bring unconditional love to their families; they can brighten up your day and leave a smile on your face through the darkest times. I have always firmly believed that animals deserve the right to safety and should be handled with care. I am honoured to be a part of the Dora foundation, where I get the opportunity to give back and help protect these wonderful animals.

Jacky Xue - Vice President

Jacky has loved dogs upon first sight of them. He still laments the loss of Dora, so he is excited to be a part of the Dora foundation to protect defenceless animals like Dora.

Arsalan is proud and inspired by the Dora Foundations commitment to serving those who are least able to defend themselves. Animals and dogs, in particular, have played a crucial role in his life, and he’s excited to see the incredible things this foundation will do

For as long as I can remember the love I have for dogs is incredible. They are such amazing and beautiful animals. I’m excited to be part of the Dora Foundation because I get to help animals that don’t have voices and that need our help!

Jessica Qian - Secretary

Growing up, Jessica has always loved animals, although she does not have a pet, she likes to observe the squirrels and the rabbits in her backyard and sketch them. Jessica has long been passionate about furthering animal rights and welfare. She believes that animal testing should be banned as animals should be treated equally as humans. Jessica is excited to work with the Dora foundation to achieve these goals and is thrilled to see more attention being brought to the all too common mistreatment and neglect of animals.
